The American Heritage Girls (AHG) is a Christian-based scouting organization for girls, ages 5-18. The organization has more than 43,000 members with troops in all 50 states in early 2017, plus Americans living in twelve other countries. The American Heritage Girls oath, recited at each meeting after the presentation of colors, states: “I promise to love God, cherish my family, honor my country, and serve in my community.”
AHG Troop TX2912 meets on every second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. We typically meet in the cafeteria of the Cedar Creek Middle School in Cedar Creek, TX, but occasionally meet at the School Hall of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockne, TX. At each meeting, the girls work on badges that range in topics such as life skill enhancement, social development, leadership, developing teamwork and confidence, spiritual development, and character development. We welcome visitors to our meetings to learn more!

St. Mary’s is home to a growing group of dedicated homeschooling families who have chosen to utilize the opportunity to incorporate their Catholic faith into the every day teaching of their children. The group regularly gets together to socialize and learn, paying special attention to church feast days – such as All Saints Day – and other opportunities to include God in every element of learning and play. We would love to talk to anyone in the area interested in homeschooling or wanting to connect with other Christian homeschoolers.
Contact Kathry Posey at 512-658-4726 for information.
The Choir and Musicians serve the worshiping community at St Mary’s during liturgical celebrations, by supporting and encouraging a singing assembly. If you have the gift of music, then our group might be just the right ministry for you. Participation is open to members of all ages.

Eucharistic Ministers, lectors, and ushers fulfill important roles in the life of the Church and in the celebration of mass. If you are interested in participating in one or more of these ministries contact Paul Goertz at 512-237-0352 or after mass for more information on qualifications and duties.
At each Mass, youth from our parish serve God as altar servers, assisting the priest and deacons with the activities and sacred rituals involved of the Mass. As an altar server, young people not only have the opportunity to be an important part of one of the Catholic’s church’s most important sacrament – the Eucharist – but to also have the opportunity to consider what it means to be called to the vocation of Holy Orders.
At St. Mary’s, we typically have three to four altar servers, both boys and girls, ranging in age from 9 years old and up. Members of the parish work each week with altar servers to ensure they are properly trained and prepared to help serve in Mass. For more information, please contact Kathryn Posey at 512-658-4726 or Tish Evans at 512-629-5975.

The St. Ann's Society was founded in 1881 by Anna Wick as the St. Ann's Mother's Society. St. Ann was the mother of Mary and grandmother of Jesus according to apocryphal Christian tradition. Today she is considered the patroness of mothers, nascent women, widows, sailors, poor schools, and Christians.
The purpose of St. Ann’s Society is to provide women an opportunity to assist parish programs, to be involved in spiritual and educational efforts, and to fulfill their vocations with the humility, dignity and love of St. Ann.
For more information about the String Prairie chapter and upcoming meetings, please contact Fran Herauf at 830-540-3350 or Cathy Witherspoon at 512-332-1661.
