In 1900 he members of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church of String Prairie decided that their legacy would be the church we worship in today. Raising the necessary funds with a capital campaign, the growing parish built a house of God that met their needs for many years.
In the last 117 years, our church has witnessed the quest for redemption by many of our friends and ancestors. It has survived the winds that removed its steeple. It has seen the continued growth of our congregation which feels much fondness for this historic structure.
